“Beyond Black Mesa” Half-Life Video Game Independent Short Fan Film, Directed by Brian Curtin. Sidewalk Film Festival.

Meet Adrian Shephard, the leader of a band of resistance fighters from the Half-Life Video Game series, as he travels to send out a warning of the impending invasion from beyond our planet. Inspired by the Half-Life video game, this live-action Independent fan film called “Beyond Black Mesa” goes out to prove making a good film doesn’t need a large budget, seeing as how this film ran on a $1,200 budget. Both “Beyond Black Mesa” & “Fall Out: Nuka Break” are two works of art that a small budget can turn into gold.

“This film is not HL,HL2 or Opposing Forces. It’s a short fan film that takes place in the Half-Life world. Also, as a completely independent film, we wanted to have a creative voice in the movie and make it a movie that we would enjoy shooting. We took artistic freedoms and liberties, unfortunately most of those decisions were determined by our limited resources.”
