There’s been a new trend in light of all the controversial white-washing of Hollywood films with colored-leads being replaced with white actors/actresses, an example being the latest Scarlet Johansson casting in Hollywood’s adaptation of “Ghost in the Shell” movie. This trend has captured twitter and other social media platform by storm aptly called the “#starringJohnCho”. Brought to light by William Yun, by strategically photoshopping various Hollywood movie posters with the lead being John Cho is a way to show the general American audience that it shouldn’t be out of place or weird to see an Asian American lead.
