When I was first starting out learning photoshop and reading up on tutorials, I would make all these funny movie posters. It was a great way for me to apply the newly learned techniques on a fresh project.
So if you take a look at the poster above, I did a faux movie-poster treatment to my own fantasy film, “Apes Takeover Tokyo.” It has all my fascination with the classic “Planets of the Apes,” and “Godzilla” films all in one. I just couldn’t pass off a chance to create something combining the two influences!
And for this poster I just wanted to mash up as many random celebrities and pop-cultural entities in one fantasy film. In this “Godzilla” movie imagining, we have the king of Monster Island, Godzilla, pitted against the likes of Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie, Ultraman, Dragon Zord, King Kong, and, finally, Alcapone. Random right? That’s exactly why I love it!
