“How To Raise Racist Children.” By Wired; Step One: Don’t Talk About Race. Be Color Blind.

This was an interesting article that I came across that caught my eye when I read it’s title, “How To Raise Racist Children.” This article was written by Jonathan Liu of Wired.com, and it gives an interesting explanation as to what people may normally think is right in the ways of informing their children of equality between race by dodging racial conversations all together, when in fact this is what causes children to become racist. By not informing them verbally and teaching them the specifics of race you are doing more harm than you are doing good. The article explains some interesting points, and I think it would make for an great read just for the mere insight. Check it here.

Step One: Don’t talk about race. Don’t point out skin color. Be “color blind.”

Step Two: Actually, that’s it. There is no Step Two.

Congratulations! Your children are well on their way to believing that is better than everybody else.
