Ever wanted to create or change your own Left 4 Dead menu screen? Well, thanks to EastW1ng you now can!
1. Menu Layout and Backgrounds (Created thanks to Eastw1ng)
Details: “Ever since Left 4 Dead came out, the background video irritated me to the bone, it constantly replayed and the quality kinda sucked. a few days ago I started searching for a way to revert it to a background. While making the background, I also redid the layout of the main menu buttons. (I’m a sucker for the old style centered buttons). I also included the Server browser code made by blind fury 420, so credits for the button go to him.
At the moment I have 4 backgrounds and an extra background (the first one edited) for the clan PowerWithinDestruction.com (As a request from Kitty, the leader). You can click on preview to check it before installing, there is also a preview in every zip file.
There is also a readme.txt included on how to replace the files, but I’ll just post it here one more time, for the people that hate the readme’s or just don’t give a damn:
There are two files in the zip:
!!Keep in mind to make backups or rename the original file if you ever need the original files back.!!
(Required)File 1: (The original background movie file) Will be replaced by the new “l4d_background” in the folder [Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\media]
(Optional)File 2: (The original UI, the menu screen’s layout) Will be replaced by the new “MainMenu” in the folder [Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\resource\UI\L4D360UI]
