Valve’s Left 4 Dead Review. It’s here, and I hope you brought your friends!

Well, its obvious with just a few minutes of being swarmed by “zombies”..  Things are getting pretty freaky.  And with the things going as they are now, It sure Isn’t going to get any better.

Whether its being mauled by a hunter, or covered in boomer vomit, this is a nice breath of fresh air for you and all your friends.  Pretty much you get tossed into a world filled with some infected lunatics (AKA: Zombies). Your mission?  Kill while running like hell.  Everyone can understand that right?

Its quite a simple and fun formula actually.  That is If you have friends along with you anyways.   In-game you and your pal’s control 1 of 4 playable characters (Any character left is controlled by the AI, and players may join at any time). You then go through of a series of rooms/environments with zombies infesting every nook and cranny of the level.  While you and your buds share equipment with each other to help each other from getting ripped to shreds.  Its nice to have an actual efficient co-op system that actually takes team-work to make it through.

With a difficulty level that should fit any player’s skill level, (along with a pretty cool balancing system if one of your pals.. Is lacking?) having fun working together is a endless swarm of fun.  Though this game does lack in some aspects.   With a limited selection of equipment: Pistol/Shotguns/Uzi/M16/Hunting Rifle. The game doesn’t seem to get overly repetitive, even while using generally the same weapon over and over every  level.  With graphics so easy on the eyes, its hard not to enjoy watching a whole spawn of zombies mowed down.  (Or dog-piling over a enticing pipe grenade.) In a way it feels like Valve just brought new meaning to 12-gauging to the face.

It seems Valve made sure to hit the players with a new game that like it’s counterstrike/half-life brethren, doesn’t become repetitive.  Every level you play is never the same the next run through.  Different spawning locations with tons of different elements that help make each run through unique. Seems like Valve really knows how to nail a fan in heat.

As long as you have friends who will play along with you. Then this is a great buy for some fun, and thrills.  Especially if you have some family and friends that aren’t to shy on popping a few heads off.

Overall Rating: 9/10
