Last weekend was crazy for us, and part of the reason was getting the chance to hit up our good friends over at Sour Grapes 13‘s latest art show at the Dallas Contemporary! This time the famous Texas graffiti crew (Sour Grapes 13) are paying tribute to their childhood graffiti heroes/inspirations whom unfortunately passed away, hence the name of the Sour Grapes’ show being called “Rest In Power“.
From graffiti legends like Beno, Nase, Tie, and a few others, the members of Sour Grapes 13 skillfully tagged the names of the fallen artists in a beautiful way. Without these graffiti legends there would be no Sour Grapes. So it’s major that the SG13 crew can honor their heroes in a BIG and special way.
The night was filled with folks packing into the Dallas Contemporary. As usual there were an immense amount of love for the SG13 crew for the opening of the “Rest In Power” art show. We had an amazing time catching up with the Sour Grapes crew at the show. A lot of our conversations were over the fallen artists that they’ve paid honor too and the many ways that it gave the crew members an outlet to express themselves artistically.
The night was full of great food (Tacos!), good music, lots of folks, and of course the SG13 members.
Check out the amazing trailer to the show below of the SG members working on prepping the art-work for the show:

The space was super tight at the show, so I couldn’t grab a good photo of the art pieces in one photo… So I took sections of them!
SUPER COOL!
The work is pristine. A definite master at work here.
At the show, there were 80ft of art… That’s a lot.
