Fear, pain, and suffering, the few opposing human attributes that we are far more familiar with than we would like to be. These feelings are all apart of us as humans; it’s what causes our heart to ache, our mind to go hay-wire, and our emotions to become distorted. It’s easy to fall in the trap of letting these negative feelings bring us down, make us quit, and kick us out for the inning, but these aren’t attribute of weakness or misfortune. Rather, if we allow ourselves to face the tribulation in our times of misfortune, we’ll reap the true rewards of its’ offering: strength, wisdom, and courage.
We can either face the pain and suffering by allowing it to strangle us and place a halt in our life in a vicious cycle of obsession, depression, and falling deeper into temptations, or we can take a step back and take a look at what the pain and suffering truly means in our lives. Even though seemingly negative, these are the feelings which let us become strong and give us strength, if that is what we allow for. The struggle between fear, pain and struggle, allows for us to reflect upon our given situations, to formulate different patterns of thoughts on every experience that we lived through. What stems from reflecting on our pain and suffering, comes wisdom, the knowledge of knowing the mistakes that were made, and the amendment to prevent future fall-outs. Sometimes heartache can inspire a huge change in a person’s entire outlook. This varies between strong individuals who know their selves opposed to insecure individuals who depend on others or material obsessions for their own happiness…
We have the choice to allow pain and suffering to become our strongest allies or our worst enemies, but, at the end of the day, life will always be better when we stand above our pain, suffering, and fear. Nothing ever came from staying in the dirt and beating a dead horse.
“It never gets easy. Life is full of pain, fear, and suffering, it’s supposed too. It’s God’s way of preparing us for what we are meant to do & overcome in our lives.”
