This post will mark the final Loyal K.N.G. post recap of KIXPO 2010. You can check out PART 1 (Sneakers and vendors) here and PART 2 (Folks dropping through) here. Kixpo 2010 was a great way for us to showcase our new Summer 2010 line, which although be-lated released… Still have yet released in our online store, due to our busy schedules. However, all was not bad, we received tons of positive remarks for our freshest season yet. August marked a great time for us, from our first collaboration project with Sour Grapes 13, Chip tha Ripper showing us love at his final Texas Gift Raps tour in Dallas, and finally making our FIRST Kixpo 2010 appearance… It was a good ride, and we wouldn’t be able to get to where we are with out your continual love and support… thanks so, so much! This is only the beginning… We have BIG things over the horizon!
This is Emilia, she was actually the first person to notify us when Chip Tha Ripper came out during his Dallas concert with our tee on! Wow!
Our logo, which we named “Atama”, a Japanese word meaning “head”, is making a successful mark as our logo/mascot for the Loyal K.N.G. brand! Sometime soon I will be making a more in-depth post explaining the logo, it’s origin, and what it means to the brand.
Much love for Atama in that apple green colored tee!
Our friend, Max, picking up our Summer’s “Greatest Game” t-shirt!
This guy came all the way from SMU to grab a tee!
Someone pulled a sneaky finger-bunny-ears… So sneaky!
Our first t-shirt collab with the Sour Grapes 13 crew flying out the frying pan, literally… Our area were not the coolest area in the venue.
Paletas, paletas, paletas, paletas!
Collab tee going, going… Almost all-gone!
Atama is making a big ole splash in our Summer line… We hit hard on pushing this little guy. I just love the mascot!
This is Omar, he came through rocking our Spring 2010 season Inverted Brain Freeze tee, that’s good looks right there!
Of course, Omar had to cop a new season tee!
This shirt is just flying off our table, it’s apart of our Summer 2010 unreleased line entitled “Gravestein Bear”. If you didn’t already know “gravestein” is actually a type of apple!
I’m actually quite surprised how “Gravestein Bear” on Navy color is doing…
Our good friend, Daniella, even stopped by to grab another tee! Daniella is always stopping by our obscurely heated shows, and always supports our movement… Major love. As much as we love bringing smiles to the supporters, Daniella brings smiles to us!
Random Fact: I don’t even own a “Atama” logo t-shirt… This shirt went so fast that I didn’t even think fast enough to hold myself a copy… PRETTY ANGRY RIGHT ABOUT NOW. Grr..
Awwww yeaaa! Finally someone to pick up our Summer 2010’s “Born To Dream” t-shirt. This is one of my favorite design, just due to the fact that it really challenged my creativity, illustrative skill, and allowed me to implement a lot of positive subliminal symboligy into the design. There’s a great story behind this design, but I’ll reserve it for when I officially release the Summer line… I know it’s late… But it happens.
Erika picks up our “Lion KNGS” t-shirt! She’s a long time fan of Fur Face Boy brand, so it means a lot that she’s showing us some love.
Yessir! That Lion KNGS making some movements!
Ohhh boy, looks like I’m running out of captions to say now… Bout to go into random thought mode.
This line that we premiered is suppose to be our Summer 2010 release… And Summer is totally over.
Reason being that I had a lot of people in need of my service… via freelance designs, web designs, branding consultant, and various of other projects… Which all took time away from the summer production.
…And even besides all those factors, we had a lot of trouble with our production team…
Yep, our printers were paid upfront and full, and they procrastinated LITERALLY for an entire month.
They were so late on producing the Summer 2010 line for us to release, that they rushed printed all our order in the last week of our first major show…which happened to be the Houston Sneaker Summit.
And to make matters worse, they didn’t even print the full stock amount… I had nearly 500$ worth of missing merchandise. That was REAL stressful for us.
The full arrival of our Summer 2010 line came 1 month late, missing stock amount, and two days before our major show in Houston…
I ended up pulling 2 all-nighters with my co-workers clipping neck tags, doing inventory, and organizing the shirts in boxes by sizes so we could sell at shows.
Now we had to do this with hundreds, and hundreds of shirts… And the sad thing was, we had to recount the line twice, because we noticed that we weren’t sent our full order.
Even though we went through a crazy-stressful phase in receiving our summer line. We made it out with air in our lungs.
All is well, and we fought through the struggle.
If you are going to run a brand, issues like these crop up ALL the time.
Sometime its best to just STAND UP and put in the work needed to SOLVE the problem.
And you’ll always be further ahead then you were before, and that’s all we can truly ask and hope for.
This is Gilbert and his girlfriend, Sunita. We actually met them through Jalil’s AntiAndroid party, so it was super-good seeing them come through!
Coming through for that “Jason Paleta” tee! Unlock me missing out on my own “Atama Logo” shirt, I made sure I saved this one for myself.
This is Izamar, she’s apart of the KIXPO team! She was our working neighbor during the Kixpo event!
And finally, this is Ms. Karleah. She’s dangerous. Check out her tumblr, where she updates on her art work!
Well, that’s all folks! This is the conclusion of our KIXPO recap. Catch y’all next year, and see you soon. Wait for our KIXPO video recap to be released soon!
