Finally moving on to some nitty-gritty arm anatomy studies from Andrew Loomis’ “Figure Drawing for All It’s Worth”! This isn’t exactly the most exciting subject in the world but it’s always crucial to learn the muscles and how they work throughout the body.
Knowing where the muscles are and how they work gives your artistic vocabulary a range to doodle up anything from super muscular Hulk’s to cute anime babes who’s busts are big than their heads. In other words the more you know, the more you can draw (draw correctly without reference that is).
Have to admit these first few arm studies are pretty embarrassing, but what’s most important here is that I learn a basic guideline of what the muscles are and what they do before I move on to other sources.
