Finally got my hands on this movie, and I must say it wasn’t exactly what I expected. But unlike most game to movie titles this one wasn’t as crummy and way of base.
I’ll try to make this spoiler free as possible, lol but just in case~ *Spoiler Alert*
First off, Resident Evil Degeneration takes place a year after Resident Evil 4. In other words, 7 years after the zombie fest of Raccoon city. We’ll be following Clair Redfield (who somehow reminds me of Drew Barrymore… Probably just me), and Leon S Kennedy as they once again, go through a hell of a lot of zombies.
I’ve always been a fan of the Resident Evil series, but unlike the games, the movies always come out disappointing. Poor acting, rubbish story-telling, and isn’t even Resident Evil (Just a dull movie with zombies). Degeneration isn’t exactly a exception to the rule, but compared to whats been coming out, its definitely not something to trash.
Degeneration is roughly a hour and thirty minutes long. Pretty short, but sweet for what it has to offer. The movie is filled with some pretty amazing CG animation (Clair never looked so good). With nice chunks of zombie raping here and there, with a few twists and turns. The movie should keep your attention, especially if your a actual fan of the series.
Of course, the movie also has it’s flaws. Most of which are nit-picking but, still bother me to no end. One of the most annoying is the fact that Leon turned emo this time around. Seems like they wanted him to be blatantly bada**. Not only that, it seems like in every scene, he’s standing in the same position.
The movie also has a hefty chunk of cliches of events (that are very predictable). *hinting Spoiler* Lets say some person is in the process of turning into zombie, but the friend of that person doesn’t want to let the person go, even tho the person that was turning into a zombie wanted them to leave. Yep that whole run-on sentence. Except there’s plenty more where that came from. A lot more.
Other than that, the movie is great for anyone who is the fan of the series (games). Plenty of sexy Clair Redfield, and bit of nit picking, but still a decent watch.
