Part 2

Yay! A new Monday brings a new Heroes! A blessing and a curse might I say so myself. Today is December 1st, 2008 and Heroes Season 3 Episode 11 “The Eclipse Part 2” has just finished airing. So as the usual ritual I will write out my thoughts, opinions, and analysis for this week’s Heroes episode.

Proceed with caution major spoilers are found every where!

Today’s Heroes episode is cleverly (sarcasm) titled “The Eclipse Part 2.” This episode will tie up the general scheme of all this Eclipse mumbo-jumbo that was brought into effect during last week’s episode “The Eclipse Part 1.” A little backtrack to what has been going on so far, Eclipse occurs and everybody’s powers have gone and disappeared. Now this brings up a pretty important question that should definitely be discussed. What the hell does this Eclipse have anything to do with Heroes besides their powers? I mean if Arthur and Angela, who are the only two people so far that seems to have a full grasp of what is going on so far have no clue about it then what the hell is this Eclipse purpose? Could this be a lead up to Heroes Seasons 4? Could next Season’s theme be about a godly figure of some sorts, such as Galactus from Fantastic Four’s or Apocalypse from X-men? All I got to say is, if Heroes can last for a 4th Season I hope they do it right…

So tonight’s Heroes episodes opens with Peter and the Haitian running around together in the jungle, and as usual there is chatter between them as the Haitian tells Peter to go run away and leave this dirty business for him to handle. This didn’t really make much sense, since if I recalled correctly from lasts week “The Eclipse Part 1,” he was making such a big fuss to Peter and Nathan about assisting his helpless butt in taking down his “Luke Cage” brother. Well, whatever. I guess it wouldn’t be Heroes if you didn’t have this type of blabber scenes at least 5 times every friggin’ episode… In this scene, Peter is showing a lot of resentment for losing his powers. I mean the dude basically could wipe all kinds of asses until he went stupid and hugged his insane father, which let me remind you, is evil and manipulative… too bad for Peter for realizing this too late. Peter says to the Haitian during their argument, “Can I be a hero without my powers?” This begs one question. Why Peter, do you want to be useful now without your powers, when you could of friggin’ run the whole planet if you wanted too when you had your amazing overpowered powers, which Arthur now has and still hasn’t abused, what nuts in these Peterelli families!

After this scene, we are briefly shown Claire being rushed to the hospital in critical condition. From this scene we find out that she has her whole lungs all fubared… That doesn’t sound good for our bratty Cheerleader. The sad thing about this scene is that the writers are trying their best to stir up emotional tension in the audience… Which is difficult to begin with due to how the rules of the show works. We all know that no one ever really dies on this show. Even in a scene later on, we have Garfield Dude foreshadow the whole damn theory of what is going to go down later on in the episode that would completely negate any deaths that would technically occur on any heroes… And in this episode, conveniently, the two heroes that are dieing or being killed are Claire and Sylar… who both can heal… All I can really say is that the writers can only try so hard with what they have to work with before it all comes crumbling down into mere Shatner’s turd.

Proceeding this scene we get a glimpse of Sylar and Elle making the baby love (I TOLD YOU SO!). But I’m 100% positive most viewers knew it was going to happen. What tripped me up about this scene particularly was because of how last week’s episode ended. Remembering back to the last cliff-hanger we see Noah on top of a roof with a sniper rifle aimed at a kissing Sylar and Elle. So fast forward to this week, now Sylar and Elle are friggin’ doin’ the dirty! What the DUMB?! Did Noah actually just freakin’ waited till they unclothed themselves to shoot them to death? DID HE REALLY NOW? This can only be summed up in one phrase, Noah is one horny bastard. But it gets more crazy… This dude is a trained professional, borderline assassin and he misses his flippin’ shot! What a douche, seriously. So that whole suspense whether Noah was gonna actually kill Sylar or not was completely ruined by this whole absurd scene… Really these writers are just running through random ideas now just to get from point A to point B and end at Point C with no type of web interconnection sort of storyline with coherent complexities. Heroes tries hard to do this but fail at being any where respectful to continuity or retaining any coherency. Back to what’s happening during this scene, Noah actually shoots Elle in the leg once, only after 20 direct shots at 2 armless obstacles… Hey at least he made one…

We are cut to the next scene now with Suresh looking through some books. Suresh starts to feel the inner sex-monster and stares at Maya’s info written on some sticky note. He’s thinking about heading out and hitting up Maya for that much needed Booty call since last episode, but once again he gets cock-blocked by mean ole father Petrelli. Arthur walks in and starts to argue to Suresh about finding the 411 on the situation, but only physical forces ensues as Fire-dumb-man (Claire’s biological mom’s dumbass brother) starts wrestling with Suresh and holding him down threatening him with his retarded flip lighter… Honestly, do he really have to use a lighter to prove the point that he used to have fire tossing abilities? There’s nothing threatening about a friggin’ lighter spewing out flames the size of a cockroach.
