So this post is directed toward all you Entourage fans! This is a review over Entourage S5 E11 “Play’n with Fire.” This episode aired on November 16th, 2008. Beware this review contains many Spoiler and is meant to be read by people who have watched this episode!
This episode of Entourage opens to the intro scene with Turtle, still sleeping in bed, being called by Jamie-Lynn Sigler, or Meadows from Soprano. It always amazes me when I watch Entourage and these guys get the hottest chicks, I’m pretty jealous. So we find out that Meadow just returned home from some faraway trip and is experiencing some jet-lag. Subsequently, she’s feeling the horny toad frog and drops a line to our favorite Turtle, lucky dawg. So obviously, Turtle takes the call and does everything on a whim for Ms. Sigler, meaning he sneaks out in the middle of the night for some booty tasting! Can’t blame the dude most guys in his shoes would do the same and probably drop a couple of bills… Turtle you did it goodwill style, congratulations.
Now we are cut to the next scene where our man, Vince, is doing a scene for his movie “Smokejumpers” and in summary this scene is bombing big time due to the angry German director, Vernor. To me I figured the guy was trying his best to get some real genuine emotions from Vince, but this only fuel the fire toward Vince’s frustration. And we end up with a bowl of wasted guacamole because now the scene which were shot apparently 50 takes has now erupted into a roaring argument between Vince and Vernor over what has to be done for this movie to be made. Unfortunately for Vince, Vernor has the last word and fires Vince from the movie… What a tool bucket that Vernor.
In the next following scene, we see Ari introduce his new partner, Andrew Cline, to his firm. And gay jokes ensue. But the fun is quickly dispersed as the horrifying news of the firing of Vince is being dropped on Ari like a nuke bomb. Our favorite Jewish Ari takes this challenge head on like he does in every episode of Entourage and calls up Eric and Vince about the issues and getting the 411. But it’s never that easy. Ari is going to fly to the set of “Smokejumper” to have a one-on-one with Vernor and it gets nasty, hilariously nasty! Quick note prior to Ari meeting with Vernor, he drops by Eric and Vince’s trailer and drops this gem of a quote, “Because The Jew Has Arrived and he Doesn’t like Germans!” In response to Eric asking how he could get this problem fixed. That quote had me rolling, I man-love Ari, seriously. Ari is doing his threatening thing to freak out his opponent and it’s always a pleasure to see Ari mind-screw somebody. Although Vernor is equally as stubborn. And nothing is being solved at this moment. So Ari calls up Dana Gordon to fix the problem and the fire fuels this huge climax.
Earlier in this episode we are cut to a more light-hearted scene with Turtle and Ms. Sigler just waking up from a night of passionate ground and pound. Turtle tries to sneak out early before Ms. Sigler wakes up, but luckily for the dude she wakes up and ask him to go eat with her. Man Turtle hit the jackpot here. Booty call out of nowhere now breakfast/lunch with some Actress on one of the biggest serial drama show ever? Dude is ballin’. To cut this scene short, the biggest thing that happens during these scenes with Turtle and Ms. Sigler is the revelation of one of the best well-kept secret of Entourage, Turtle’s real name. It’s quite hilarious how this dropped out, Jamie-Lynn does some reverse-psychology on Turtle about not even bothering to ask his name and guess what? Turtle drops it anyways. Then again this is the dude that literally hit the jackpot here so this is passable. Oh and his name is Sal. Booyah!
In the climax of this episode, we finally have the entire group gather together into Dana’s office, Vernor, Eric, Vince, Drama, Ari, and of course Ms. Dana. Argument ensues and Ari threatening skills drops some bombs, but that’s not even the most hilarious part. The whole insane part of this episode is when “Ramstein – Duhast” is being played in the background as Vernor storms out the office trying to find John Ellis. The music is so fitting to the mood and emotion in this scene. It’s almost like Vernor was the Hulk busting like a mad nut everywhere. To say the least this was a very funny scene.
Sadly, the climax ends in a drizzle as we find out that the movie is now canceled and production is halted by John Ellis. So Vince and the rest of his posse gets seated on a plane and flies back to Queens.
