We the LoyalKNG, just got our act down, and man what a shaft that came out to be.
Black Friday has hit, now lets deal with the aftermath. This year (2008), has by far slapped more babies back in their mama’s then any other year.
With little deals worth fighting over, it’s hard to see why we should be so thankful when there’s little to actually be thankful about (aside from the essentials; family/friends/etc). Unless what we should be thankful for is the fact that we have rebates on all the “best” deals, so that it can stay the best deal.
“Sure its an extra $100-$500 more out of your pockets, but in a week or two you’ll get that money back!” Yea, of course you will. For all of you who don’t understand what a rebate is; A rebate is pretty much a marketing tool to make it seem like the prices on their products are lower in the customer’s eyes, but in truth, its still the same. That is until you do all the paperwork, down to the very last detail, so that you can receive the rebate. Still confused? Well then here’s and example:
There’s a great 22″ monitor for only $130. But that’s only after you receive the rebate when it actually costs you only $130. Say someone sees this deal, and is amazed by how cheap the monitor is, so he/she goes off and purchases it. But instead of paying the price of $130, he pays $180 at the store. Even after paying this much, this person is still happy with his purchase, since in his mind he only payed $130, where in truth he actually payed $180. $50 of which is only returned to him once he returns the paperwork in a limited amount of time. Failure of not completing or not having proof you bought the product, would mean you are stuck with paying $180, instead of $130.
This is a very common occurrence during Black Friday’s, but when there’s no real great deals in the first place, it makes it that much worse when you have to pay the extra cash just to end up receiving it back or being stuck with it (and at that point, it’s overpriced).
Even though Black Friday itself wasn’t great, we the LoyalKNG crew decided to put something together for all of you, our fans, to brighten your day. Stay tuned for some poppin’ footage we got this year on Black Friday.
