“DunKNG Diggler” Royal Blue Tee
If you’ve been following our Facebook and Twitter accounts closely, you probably noticed me dropping hints at a special t-shirt design dedicated to Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks. Since game 1 we’ve all been watching and following the Dallas Mavs’ progression through the NBA games, with each win edging the team closer to the championship trophy and title of world’s greatest. And as the underdogs facing off against giants, such as the Miami Heats, it was a tough bout for the Mavs. Dirk took a lot of heat from Lebron and other Heats players the few days before the final game, but when the buzzer rang, Dirk and the Mavs team pulled it together and showed the world what it meant to be dedicated, humble, and hungry.
I titled this design,”DunKNG Diggler“, after Dirk and his various nicknames that he earned during his illustrious career with the Mavericks. In this design, I posed Dirk in the iconic Jumpman position with one hand hoisting a basketball and the other hand grasping the NBA championship trophy. It was my way of mashing up a Jumpman logo, the Jordan III “True Blues“, and Dirk, all in one awesome design. I’ve always wanted to do a fun re-interpretation of the Jumpman logo, so when Dirk led the Mavs to the big “W”, I had to jump at the opportunity to design something ridiculous for the joyous occasion. And to compliment the front of the shirt, I designed a special back design that I felt Dirk and anybody who ever hustled to success represented. Dirk took the court as a humble hustler fighting for his place in NBA history as the champ settling for nothing less. And that’s the only way winners should live their life!
