Loyal K*N*G — Dance Edition

Jon M. Chu has been hard at work at getting his new dance crew epic, League of Extraordinary Dancers aka LXD, promoted the past and following year for some time now. And it’s great to see him release a TED performance of his crews. It’s no doubt inspirational, and just helps spotlight the talents and the amazing abilities of these dancers. Sometime it’s easy to forget with all our comics, super-hero movies, and shows, that there are actually real life super heroes…

Imagine two rival factions — one good, one evil — squaring off in an epic battle … an epic dance battle. Welcome to The LXD, a new online adventure in which heroes and villains combat each other with dance superpowers. With stunning choreography, dancers float over the ground like marionettes or crush the laws of physics beneath their feet when they perform breathtaking aerial maneuvers and transcendental step sequences.

The series hopes to do more than follow the dance-battle zeitgeist that rules today’s TV ratings. In addition to live performances, The LXD reveals dance superheroes on both sides of the screen—viewers can learn dance moves from instructional videos, and even become part of the story by participating in the web community. The LXD is written and directed by Jon Chu, a veteran of dance productions, including the box office sensation Step Up 2: The Streets and the Internet phenomenon, The Biggest Online Dance Battle.

Jon M. Chu has finally done it! He has gotten his League of Extraordinary Dancers (LXD) to perform at this year’s 2010 Oscars Award ceremony, and what a beautiful performance it was. The winding dancers, the skillful agility, the graceful movements, all contributed to no doubt one of the biggest anticipated dance performance of 2010. LXD has been a working project that Jon M. Chu and crew have been working hard for, and as a result we can see where it led them, straight to the Oscars where millions of people can watch them. Now I just can’t wait for the actual LXD web-series!

Mad Chad is a dancing golden Oscar in the video below. This video was made for the promotion of LXD dancing at the Oscars by Jon M. Chu. I can’t wait to see them on the Oscars, it will be no doubt one of the craziest dance routine ever. I have high expectations and I’m more then positive they will be met.

Quest Crew shows what’s up at live at Kababayan Fest Knotts. Going through a freestyle arrangement, Quest Crew kills the scene with their performance. Hokuto “Hok” Konishi, Ryan “Ryanimay” Conferido, Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval, Steve Terada, Ryan “Feng” Feng, Lydia “Lyddz” Paek, Aris “Sfffeee” Paracuelles, Andy “Rocket Man” Luo, Brian Hirano, and Victor Kim just takes the chicken home, b-boy and hip-hop crazy.

Eketc has hosted a dance workshop starring many world-renown dancers from all over the country to come together and throw some of the sickest dance routines ever! This video is just a little taste of what the crew brought to the workshop. In this video, we get to see Tony Tran of Kaba Modern ripping the scene up with his amazing talents. I just wish we could of been there to experience this epicness. One day…. One day.

Featuring urban legend, JP San Pedro, youtube channel EKETC uploads a video of JP San Pedro dance routine to ‘Rihanna – Hard ft. Jeezy’. The dance is fast and technical. I only wish my body could move that fast, this dance is sick to the max.

I’m a big fan of Shaun Evaristo for his mad choreography skills, so it’s cool to see him presenting his fellow dancers like he does here with Bryan “Subi” Subijano for a dance routine of his own. Bryan choreographs an amazingly emotionally felt routine over the track “Not Anymore” by Letoya.
