Austin TX 2011 Dragon Boat Race Festival! People, Doggies, Boats, Food, & FUN Dancing!

Dragon Boat Festival is an annual occurring event that happens in Austin TX’s Lady Bird Lake! Kayakers from all over Texas gather together to compete in a wholesome and family fun event that also double as a fun way to educate attendees about the Japanese culture. The festival wasn’t just full of boat racing, but had fun Japanese-culture inspired dance, musical, and acrobatic performances that kept all the attendees entertained! The food being served were tasty authentic Japanese snacks, and along with food, the event even had huge area for folks to bring their families along to picnic and just enjoy the beautiful afternoon in Austin TX.

This was a great way for me and the Loyal K.N.G. crew to take a break and just enjoy our afternoon at a fun festival with a breath of fresh air. Just seeing all the fun cultural performances, and people all happy and stress-less was a treat in itself. Good times was infectious, and I was happy to be apart of it!

Thien walking through all the crazy folks being way to happy for their own good… It’s a good thing.

So many picnic spread out! Sometime I forget that picnic still exists, good to see it’s a live and rampant.
