Well here we are again, and this time around I’m going to give you some tips on how to increase defensive play. Lets get started.
1. When you get flashed/stunned, go into prone and aim your weapon in the direction where the enemy is most likely to appear (doorway/corner/etc). Many players who use special grenades rush in after the flash. Knowing that, you can fire (blind) where the enemy is most likely to come out, leaving him in for a heck of surprise.
2. Always, always, always, use cover. Don’t go sprinting in the middle of the map where everyone will see you. Its better to sprint from cover to cover. That way when some unwary player comes out shooting, you’ll have time to counter attack.
3. If you know someone is sniping/camping, crouch to get a easy kill. Crouching minimizes the sounds of your footsteps, so the enemy won’t know your coming. Though if your playing in a populated server (so much firing going on, you can’t hear footsteps), you can go ahead and Rambo on in.
4. When you take someone out, be aware they might have martyrdom. So a few steps to close will lead you to a pretty bad hangover. This goes for random piles of corpses also.
5. When you hit someone, and your cross hair gets a red x, then that means they have juggernaut. So its going to take a additional hit to take that person down.
6. Don’t pile up with your team mates. Unless your using team work (mic/chat) its best to keep away. Your buddies will give away your position, and help the enemy target where the bunch of you are. So during this time while the enemy is attacking your team’s bunched up force, go around and attack them from behind where they least expect it.
7. Swat those helicopters. There’s nothing more annoying then a heli riding around, with no one willing to take it down. If you are in a team, tell them to help you take it down. Doing this, that chopper will be down in no time. For a additional note the order in which the heli usually attacks is LMG-Assault rifle-SMG-shotgun.
8. Reload! This is one of the most basic things new players fail to do. Doesn’t matter if your down half a clip, or only took 2-3 shots. Reload whenever you can. There’s been countless times where the bottom of my clip saved me. Every shot counts, so be sure you can actually use them.
9. When you kill someone, be sure to move. If the server has kill-cam or the players knows where you attacked from, they will most likely then not come to that position. Use this to your advantage, knowing where the enemy might be coming, is a great asset to anyone. This also works both ways, so if you’ve been killed, you know where your enemy is.
10. Be aware of your environment (AKA learn the map). Doing this you can determine different strategies for different situations. For example, where you should fire from the hip/sights, or figure where the enemy tends to approach from. This will give you an advantage on quickening your response time. Knowing what to do for different situations will keep you on tip top shape on what acts on you.
